2018 Housing Innovation Marketplace

The annual Housing Innovation Marketplace conference brings together more than 400 community leaders and housing partners from across Nebraska and the country to discuss affordable housing and community development. Attend educational sessions, receive continuing education credits, network with colleagues and visit an array of great exhibitors all in one location. 
 
This year’s conference theme is Agents of Change. “Pitch Your Project” gives you the opportunity to be an Agent of Change and help create workforce housing opportunities across the state. We encourage all attendees to submit a workforce housing project for your community or neighborhood and “Pitch Your Project” prior to the conference through either the NIFA Facebook (NIFAHousing) or Twitter (@NIFAHousing) pages using the phrase #NIFApitchyourproject in the post. You can also email “Pitch Your Project” to nifa@nifa.org. Attendees submitting a “Pitch Your Project” will receive a discount on their conference registration fee. Bridges To Hope
Bridges to Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides tangible items to men and women reentering society after incarceration. These men and women face a number of obstacles as they try to re-establish themselves as contributing citizens, including finding a place to live and employment, both of which are difficult with a criminal record. If they do find employment, it will often cover rent, utilities and food expenses, but most likely the reentrant will not make enough money to furnish a home. Bridges to Hope is able to assist the reentrants by providing donated clothing, furniture, household items, and personal hygiene products at no cost to the reentrants.

Midwest Housing Equity Group
Midwest Housing Equity Group, Inc. (MHEG) was created in 1993 with the objective to raise equity capital to invest into affordable rental housing throughout Nebraska through use of the federal low income housing tax credit program as defined in Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code. MHEG later expanded into Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota. Twenty years later, MHEG has become a successful and experienced tax credit syndicator servicing the Midwest. Nebraska Energy Office
The Nebraska Energy Office is the state’s lead agency for policies and programs promoting efficient, economic and environmentally responsible use of energy.  The Energy Office director is a member of the Governor’s cabinet and advises the Governor on energy policy issues.  Energy Office programs include the Low-income Weatherization Assistance Program investing $5 million per year in weatherization assistance, a revolving loan energy loan program with $48 million in assets offering low-interest loans for energy efficiency and alternative energy projects, the State Energy Program activities and various energy efficiency and renewable energy grant programs.  The Energy Office also collects essential statistical energy data and is responsible for developing recommended responses during energy related emergencies.
