NIFA strives to start conversations to educate community advocates and policy makers on various programs including homeownership, beginning farmers and ranchers, rental development, and housing the homeless. We provide training on specific NIFA programs throughout the year for lenders, realtors, property managers, developers, and all those interested in affordable housing and community development.

Innovation Expo 2026 Highlights

The 2026 NIFA Innovation Expo brought together housing partners from across Nebraska to explore practical solutions, strengthen connections and celebrate the people and organizations moving housing forward.

This year’s sessions focused on some of the state’s most important housing conversations, including accessible housing, modular housing, construction costs, zoning, tenant protections, supportive housing, homelessness response, homeownership preservation and the future of affordable housing talent.

Attendees also heard from state and national housing leaders, connected with exhibitors and partners, and celebrated the 2026 NIFA Housing Hall of Fame, Housing Champion, Development of the Year and other award recipients whose work is helping Nebraska communities grow stronger.

From policy conversations to project pitches, NIX26 reflected what happens when partners come together around a shared goal: expanding access to safe, stable and affordable housing across Nebraska.
