Groundbreaking Event for Bethlehem House Apartments

Foundations Development hosts groundbreaking event for Bethlehem House Apartments at 15th & Martha Streets, Omaha

Foundations Development will host a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new Bethlehem House Apartments adjacent to 2301 South 15th Street, Omaha, on Friday, March 19, at 1:30 p.m. Bethlehem House Apartments is a collaboration between Foundations Development, the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA), and nonprofit Bethlehem House.

The 15-unit project, when completed in June 2022, will house low-income families with children, with preference given to graduates of Bethlehem House. Construction is scheduled to begin immediately.

“This housing will provide a much-needed option for the graduates of the Bethlehem House,” Rob Woodling, Foundations Development Founder said.  “This will help create a safe, stable and affordable home that will facilitate bringing families together.  I feel very fortunate to play a part in this development.”

Bethlehem House Executive Director Joanne Hull added, “The Bethlehem House Apartments will be a game-changer for our graduates. Low income housing is in critically short supply in our community. We are so grateful to Foundations Development and NIFA—I can’t wait until our clients can move into beautiful new apartments right next door to Bethlehem House!”

Woodling, Hull and a representative from NIFA will be available for interviews after the groundbreaking ceremony. A Bethlehem House graduate will be accessible for interviews as well.

Foundations Development helps organizations utilize low-income housing tax credits to make their visions for high-quality housing a reality by working with local governments and non-profits committed to housing low- to-moderate income families, seniors and special needs populations.

Bethlehem House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing homeless women with residential and aftercare pathways for attaining pre and post-natal care, essential parenting skills, and economic security through education and employment in Omaha.
