The Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) places a premium on the importance of maintaining the privacy of your personal and financial information. NIFA has created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate its commitment to privacy practices that protect the confidentiality and security of this information and to disclose to you how we collect and use your personal information.  By accessing or using www.nifa.org (the “NIFA Website”), you agree to this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue your use of the NIFA Website.

NIFA’s Use Of Information

Information Collected by NIFA. Of the information we learn about you from your visit to the NIFA Website, we collect the following: the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet protocol address of the host server you are using; the name and version of your Web browser; the date and time you access our site; and, if you came to us through a link from some other website, the Internet address of the website from which you linked to us.  We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of thirteen (13).  The NIFA Website does not specifically target children and is not intended for use by children.  

This information is used to measure the number of visitors to different pages on the NIFA Website and to modify the NIFA Website in order to make the NIFA Website more helpful. We also use this information to monitor network traffic and to identify unauthorized access or unusual activity on the NIFA Website. We do not sell this information to third party companies.

Some parts of the NIFA Website may use a “cookie,” which is a small text file that is placed on your computer’s hard drive. The cookie does not capture personally identifiable information. Information You Provide to NIFA. If you send us information through the NIFA Website, we may use this information to send an answer to your question or deliver requested information to you. By sending an email or making a request or inquiry, you agree to permit NIFA to keep and use the information you have given us consistent with this Privacy Policy.

If you enter information in an online form to register for services provided online, we may keep this information. We may use the information that you provide in the registration in order to verify your eligibility to use the NIFA Website or service that you wish to use, or to provide you access to the service. We may add you to a targeted marketing campaign, based on your responses on the NIFA website, including conversations with our chatbot. If you indicated your interest in a NIFA loan, we may also provide your information to a qualified NIFA lender, or the lender or real estate agent you indicated you intend to use for any purchase transaction. Information that you provide in this manner also may be used to measure general statistics about visits to the NIFA Website and interest in particular areas. If you would like to receive marketing communications from NIFA, you may do so by signing up on the NIFA Website.  We will ask you to provide your name, company name, and email address.  Further, if you sign up for a promotion or contest, you may need to provide additional information, such as your name, email address, telephone number and/or mailing address.

If you use the  NIFA Website in the course of business with NIFA, then information that you submit may be used and disclosed in the same ways as information that we receive outside of the NIFA Website. NIFA requires servicers and other third parties to follow appropriate security and confidentiality standards to protect information. NIFA releases information when required by law or regulation, such as to respond to a subpoena or other judicial process or to comply with requests from our regulators.

NIFA uses a variety of security measures to protect the transmission of information submitted to us through the NIFA Website.  We request that you do not send us, and you not disclose, any sensitive personal information on or through the NIFA Website.

NIFA reserves the right to revise or change this Privacy Policy  in the future. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will be clearly and conspicuously posted on this section of our site.
