Second round of emergency assistance for past-due rent and utilities is available in Nebraska

The Nebraska Emergency Rental Assistance program is now accepting applications. Income-qualified Nebraskans who experienced a financial hardship during the pandemic may apply for financial assistance for past-due and future rent payments and past-due utility and internet payments.

The $48 million program is funded by the U.S. Treasury Department's second Emergency Rental Assistance program that was authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The program is being managed by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority.
