LINCOLN, Nebraska – The Nebraska Investment Finance Authority is pleased to announce its upcoming Innovation Expo conference, scheduled to take place April 15-17, 2024 at the Lincoln Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln, Nebraska.
This year’s conference, “Framing the Future,” will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and community advocates to discuss challenges and opportunities in affordable housing and community development.
The conference will also include information on the implementation of Nebraska’s Strategic Housing Framework, a shared set of priorities and strategies developed by the Nebraska Strategic Housing Council to increase affordable housing and reduce homelessness in Nebraska.
This year’s keynote speech will feature Dr. Megan Sandel presenting “Health, Wealth, and Housing.” Dr. Sandel is a professor at Boston University and an expert on children’s health, housing and social determinants of health.
“We are thrilled to bring Dr. Sandel to Nebraska to discuss the impact of housing on the wellbeing and prosperity of communities,” said NIFA’s executive director, Shannon Harner. “Access to safe and stable housing ensures not only that families can achieve the basic need of shelter, but that communities, as a whole, are fundamentally fostering their own health and wealth for the betterment of all.”
Innovation Expo will feature insightful sessions on a diverse range of topics such as homeownership, affordable housing development, construction innovation and more. Affordable housing advocates, municipalities, builders, developers, mortgage lenders, nonprofits, property managers and real estate professionals are encouraged to attend.
Continuing education credits are available for attorneys, mental health professionals and real estate agents.
Registration for Innovation Expo 2024 is now open. Hotel rooms must be reserved by March 27, 2024. To learn more and register for the event, visit expo.nifa.org.
